I think the words are(code) for colors & prints. I think the plants were just drawn to make the pages look pretty. This had to be done by someone looking at a fantasy. Or one person did the book first then another wrote in it. Either receipes for herbal tea's, etc or maybe medicines. I dont think the plants existed. I have seen quilts made with those circles.
